The Report on the Observations of the Buddha’s Lanterns on the Summit of O-Mei Shan

  • The phenomena of Buuddha's lanterns observed at the summit of O-Mei Shan was a mysterious problem for centuries. There were several hypothesises to be suggested, but none of which is true, especially when the clergy and laity derived their theories basing upon the religious psychology. The author has worked as a meteorologist on the summit of this mountain and observed with care the so-called Auddha's lanterns for one full year. He concludes that this mysterious light in the night as observed on the mountain top is simply the fires of the farmers in the plain, it may always be visible when there is no fog or mist in the night in the low plain below the mountains.
