A SIMPLIFIED GRAPHICAL METHOD FOR NUMERICAL PREDICTION WITH A TWO-PARAMETER MODEL OF THE ATMOSPHERE

Using a 2-parameter model a graphical method for predicting the height of 600 mb surface is given arid practical operational. procedure is deseribed. This method is much in accord with that given by Fjφrtoft for barotropic model.For a case of intense development of cold wave we have computed three 600 mb prognostic charts for 24 hours interval It is found that the locations arid intensities of the systems computed by this method are in reasonable agreement with the observed ones.
