THE RELATIONSHIPS OF DROUGHT AND FLOOD OF HWANG-HO VALLEY

  • Based on the results of the author's previous study,the Hwang-Ho Valley and its surroundings are devided into seven regions.Various drought relationahips between these regions are analyzed in the following three main headings,(1) The chances of drought or flood of any two or more of these regions that may occur at the same time,(2) The possibility of drought or flood of other 6 regions when drought occurs in certain one region,and (3) The intensity of drought between certain stations and the possibility of persiistence of the drought.Finally it is pointed out that other than the Kiu-Chüan,the drought is most severe in Ho-Pei plain,while Wei-Ho basin,on the opposite,is comparatively the least severe region.
