Abstract
The wind data from free ballon at Peking in the years 1954-1955 are analysed and are grouped according to the wind velocity on X00 m level into three sets, namely:strong, moderate, and light wind. Since the data are abundant for moderate wind, and its wind profile is more representative, a theoretical investigation is proposed. Assuming the turbulent coefficient K varies with height according as K=( 7.7-4.8×10-3z)2 for:z≤900 m; and K=const=12 m2/sec for z≥000m, it is found that the calculated wind profile agrees very well with the observation. Finally, some comments are given to the new method proposed by Д.Л.лайхтман for the determination of the turbulent coefficienth from wind data.
