A PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS OF ABNORMAL PRECIPITATION DISTRIBUTION IN EASTERN CHINA IN THE FIRST SIX DECADES OF THE PRESENT CENTURY

  • Using the precipitation data of 60 years (1901-1960) at eighty-six stations of the pastern part of China, a number of monthly precipitation charts are constructed. The frequency, intensities and regularity on the occurrence of abnormal precipitation distribulion are analyzed. It is shown that during recent years the negative precipitation anomaly is predominant over eastern China. The frequency of abnormal years in precipitation distribution is found to correlate significantlv with the solar activities.
