THE LONG-RANGE PROCESS OF THE GENERAL CIRCULATION OF THE ATMOSPHERE UNDER THE INFLUENCES OF NON-ADIABATIC HEATINGS AND THE DYNAMIC EFFECT OF OROGRAPHY

  • An ideal numerical experimental model of the general circulation of the atmosphere is constructed with simple considerations of the radiation, turbulence exchange and condensation heatings andorographic effect. The effects of ocean and continent are presented by giving the earth's surface temperature. The derived ordinary differential equatons are numerically integrated oa electronic computer by Runge-Kutta method.Starting with an atmosphere in rest, the basic current is established by the effects of non-adiabatic heatings in 40 days. The basic current has the annual variation under the influences of solar radiation, earth's surface temperature and condensation heatings, all with an annual period. The amplitudes of disturbances decrease in summer, and increase in winter. The seasonal variation of earth's surface temperature controls the movements of ultra-long waves. The cold troughs are situated at the east of oceans in summer, and at the east of continents in winter. Finally, we find in the numerical experiment that the influence of initial values may last for about 100 days.
