A TENTATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE MEAN MERIDIONAL AND ZONAL-VERTICAL CIRCULATION BY USING THE SATELLITE CLOUDNESS DATA
-
Abstract
The mean meridional and zonal-vertical circulation in Pacific region have been analyzed by using 1965-1973 monthly mean satellite cloudness. The general pattern is rather similar to the result calculated by using the rawin data. Furthermore over the open seas where the conventional data are lack, the result obtained from satellite data may be better and more detailed for describing the actual atmospheric circulation.
