A PRELIMINARY STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF ENVIRONMENT FLOW FIELDS ON DEVELOPMENT AND MOVEMENT OF SUBSYNOPTIC SCALE SYSTEMS

  • In this paper, equations that describe the effect of environment flow fields on development of subsynoptic scale vortex are applied to two layers models. According to some characteristics of the subsynoptic scale systems, geostrophic approximation is applied to subsynoptic scale turbulence vorticity in high-layer of two layer model. Physical parameter——∂/∂t(ξ'-P2F/4(ΔP)2Rμ-φ')1 indicating development of low-layer subsynoptic scale systems and its equilibrium oquation are obtained by solving equations. Using this equilibriium equation, effects of environment flow fields on development and movement of subsynoptic scale systems are discussed.
