THE GLOBAL SEASONAL EVOLUTION AND THE SEASONAL SUDDEN CHANGES OF KINETIC ENERGY AT MID-TROPOSPHERE

Using the 500hPa global data in every day from 1980 to 1988,the zonal mean kinetis energy(Kz),the zonal eddy kinetic energy(KE) and kinetic energy of zonal wave number Kn(n=1,2,…,10) are computed in all zones. The differences between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres during the seasonal evolution are compared,and the view of the global seasonal evolution is put forward. The phenomenon of the seasonal sudden changes is analysed based on the energy.
