A MIXED-PHASE STRATIFORM CLOUD SYSTEM MODEL AND THE CASES MODELING ON TWO LOW LEVEL MESOSCALE VORTEXES

  • A three dimensional model of stratiform cloud system is constructed by mesoscale atmospheric model of Anthes et al. and two-parameter stratiform cloud model of Hu et al. which include three phases of water and detailed cloud microphysical processes. The hybrid-scheme and the time-split scheme are used for calculating the microphysical processes. A Lagrangean scheme is designed for calculating the falling of particles. The simulated results of 2 mesoscale vortex cases using this model are analyzed and compared with other models. It is shown that more resonable simulated structures of circulation,cloud system and surface precipitation can be given by this model.
