Abstract
Using monthly 500 hPa height data in the Northern Hemisphere,a notable stage property of long-term change of the geopotential height over the Qinghai-Xizang plateau in summer has been found. This feature is consistent with long-term oscillation of the subtropical circulation over the eastern Pacific and Atlantic. Additionally, its relation to the climate changes of China and the other regions in the world is also discussed.
