A NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THE EFFECT OF GLOBAL SST DEPARTURE ON LOW-LEVER ATMOSPHERIC CIRCULATION AND PRECIPITATION ANOMALIES

  • Introducing SST departure of the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean during El Niño or La Niña episode into IAP AGCM,the monthly mean circulation anomaly which is similar to observation on the 850hPa has been simulated. The results show that westerly(easterly) anomalous flowappears on the low-atitude Pacific and the anomalous folw toward Equator(Polar) appears on Southeast Asia Sea during the El Niño(La Niña) episode. Ifonly introducing SST departure of the Pacific Ocean into IAP AGCM or the topographies drop from the AGCM,the anomalous flow by simulated is notsame with above. The precipitation anomalies over low-latitude have been simulated and compared with observations also.
