A NUMERICAL MODEL ON THE ATMOSPHERIC BOUNDARY LAYER OVER MICROSCALE CONCAVE TERRAIN AND SOME EXPERIMENTS

  • In this paper, a high-resolution, nonhydrostatic, three-dimensional PBL model for microscale concave terrain (concave open pit mine) was established according to the features of this kind of terrain. The energy (E-ε) closure scheme was adopted, which was much beter than the classical K scheme. Using this model, characteristics of PBL structure of the microscale concave terrain was fully studied and some selective numerical experiments were made to study the condition factors on the stucture of the PBL.
