  • By simulating the sensitivity of GMS5 apparent reflectance to the reflectance of surface layer and aerosol optical thickness, we research the feasibility of using GMS5 remote sensing of aerosol optical thickness over the Chaohu Lake. Generally speaking, the retrieved aerosol optical thickness strongly depends on the reflectance of surface layer and the relative error of monthly mean aerosol optical thickness at 0.5336 μm is less than 30%.
