Abstract: A critical review, is given for the investigations in recent years in the field of the cloud-drop spectra formation. Starting from the general formulation of the problem, the author reviews the theories of the "condensation spectra" and "coalescence spectra". It is pointed out that the effects of the fluctuation of the atmospheric state and the mutual interaction of the macroscopic and microscopic process are important in. the formation of the cloud-drop spectra.
