Abstract: By using the spline interpolation,objective analyses of geopotential,temperature and surface pressure fields are tested and good results obtained.A cubic polynomal for interpolations is given for two adjacent stations by which the problem of two-dimensional analysis can be reduced to a number of one-dimensional interpolations.The algorithm is simple and stable,therefore suitable for practical use.
