线-圆偏振波天气雷达的改装及初步观测结果

摘要: 本文简要叙述了使用交替发射线-圆偏振波的天气雷达识别云中大粒子区的基本原理,介绍了采用传输型金属板圆偏振器方案改装雷达的试验及观测结果。资料表明在两种偏振状态下,强回波中心所处高度不同,回波分布特征存在差异。该雷达能够提供云中水成物粒子的新信息,但还需要改善雷达性能。Abstract: In this paper the fundamental principles for detecting the larger particles an clouds, using a weather radar with linear-circular polarization radiations, have been briefly described. The experiments of developing the polarized radiation by adopting a transmission-plate-polarizer and primary results of observation have been described. The data obtained in Pingliang area show that there are differences in heights of intensive echo centers and features of echo between the two transmitted radiations.
