Abstract: Based on the data of the everyday height of the 500 mb over the northern hemisphere in March and April during seven years, correlation analysis of the northern hemispheric westerly index cycle and spectral analysis of the angular momentum transport and energy variation are carried out. Some empirical results are presented. The results may be used in the study of the precipitation in the middle and lower reaches of the Changjiang River.
