Abstract:
The discrete-ordinate and two stream methods were applied to solve the multiple scattered radiation transfer equations for inhomogeneous aerosol atmosphere. The accurate absorption of water vapor, carbon dioxide and ozone were calculated, band by band calculations have been carried out for the heating rate profiles and total solar radiation absorption of the atmosphere in clear, hazy and dust storm conditions. When the visibility is equal to 5,10 and 15 km, the solar energy absorbed by the atmosphere is 25,33 and 52 percent larger than the condition when the effect of atrosols was neglected. The calculated results indicate that the effect of atmospheric aerosols on solar heating of the atmosphere is significant. If the effect of aerosols are neglected or treated as average value, it may produce significant error.
