TELECONNECTIONS OF 5-DAY AVERAGED 500hPa HEIGHT FIELD IN WINTER

  • 摘要: 早在本世纪初,人们就已发现大气环流存在遥相关现象.Wallace等1从北半球冬季500hPa月平均高度场总结出5种遥相关型.理论研究和数值模拟表明遥相关型是正压不稳定及Rossby波在球面上频散的反映2,3.由于Rossby波频散是定性估计大型环流中期变化趋势的基本思路及500hPa候平均图是中期预报的基本工具,因此,分析500kPa候平均高度场的遥相关是有意义的.

     

    Abstract: In this paper,the teleconnections of 5-day averaged 500 hPa height field in northern hemisphere winter are analysed,and six teleconnection patterns are summed up.The Pacific/Northern America (PNA),Western Pacific (WP) and Western Atlantic (WA) pattern are same as the teleconnection patterns of monthly averaged 500 hPa height field suggested by wallace.The Atlantic/Eurasia pattern (AEA) and it's subpattern (AEAS) are consistent with the propagations of the barotropical Rossby wave of wave number 3 and wave number 5 in spherical surface.The teleconnection of southeastern Asia pattern (SEA) may be related to the response of high latitude circulation to the low latitude forcing as shown by some numerical simulations.
