北极I区海冰面积变化及其与大气遥相关型的联系

VARIATION OF THE ARCTIC SEA ICE COVER IN REGION Ⅰ AND ITS RELATION TO THE ATMOSPHERIC TELECONNECTION PATTERNS

  • 摘要: EOF和功率谱分析表明,北极Ⅰ区海冰面积的第2、第3特征向量的年际变化具有40个月左右的振荡周期。在这一频带上,海冰面积变化的热力强迫作用可分别激发出EU和EA大气遥相关型。经对比,进一步发现,北极海冰和赤道中、东太平洋海温对北半球冬半年中纬度大气环流的影响有一定的相似性,它们都是引起短期气候变化的重要因子。

     

    Abstract: EOF and power spectral analysis show that the interannual variability of the time coefficients of the second and third eigenvectyr of the Arctic sea ice cover in region Ⅰ has a period of approximately 40 months. At this frequency band EU and EA teleconnection patterns can be excited by the thermal forcing of the variation of the sea ice cover. By comparison it is confirmed that the influence of the Arctic sea ice cover on the midlatitude general circulation in Northern winter bears some analogue to one of the SST over the central-eastern equatorial Pacific. They are the important factors to induce the short term climatic change.
