Abstract: Examination of the ENSO events and the accum ulated precipit ation and δ18 Ovalues recor dedin the Guliy a icecore, China, showed that the relationship between the occurrence of ENSO events and precipit ation anomaly in Guliya is significant. In the years of El Nino events, the anomalies of precipitaion and δ18 Ovalues in the Guliya icecore were negative anom alies, that is, the ENSO events related to the deficito fprecipitation as well as low temper ature in the west of China.
