Abstract:
The ecological system,as one of the vital factors to climate change, exerts impacton the earth at a full range of scales. In view of the fact that a draw back lies in employing climate models to simulate the effect of vegetation upon at mospheric circulation as a general practice,we propose a coupling model(R/S).A two-way coupling simulation from the NCAR's regional climate model REGCM2(called R-2 hereafter) and the SUCROS model for crop growth developed by the Wagening en Agricultural University, the Netherlands (both models, when in combination, denoted as R/S) are carried out on the interactions bet ween crops and at mosphere in Huang-Huai-Hai Plain. The experimental region(25-45°N,105-130°E) is in East China, with grid spacing of 60 km.Both models exchange information once a day.On a daily basis, the R-2 provides the SUCROS grid-points (in the box) with the total surface incident radiation, precipitation, maximal and minimal temperatures, mean vaporpressure and wind speed to drive its operation while the SUCROS furnishes the gridpoint LAI for the R-2.
