Abstract: In this paper we have discussed the following three problems:(1)Formula for the computations of the absorption of solar radiation by the stratospheric atmosphere is derived.(2) The errors are discussed when the spherical shape of the atmosphere is replaced by horizontal approximation.(3) The heating rate of the stratospheric atmosphere is computed for January and July.
