THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE CLOUDNESS AND SEA-SURFACE TEMPERATURE IN THE NORTH PACIFIC

  • 摘要: 本文通过相关分析,研究了北太平洋逐月海温与云量关系的季节变化。发现相关随地区及季节而异。赤道中太平洋地区全年均为正相关,这说明海洋对大气的影响在这里起主导作用;在加里福尼亚冷洋流区全年为一致的负相关,这说明大气对海洋的影响更重要;其他地区则表现为半年正相关,半年负相关。分析表明海温与云量的非同期关系可能主要是由于海温的持续性造成的。

     

    Abstract: The seasonal variation of the relationship between the cloudness and sea-surface temperature (SST) is examined by using of the simultaneous correlations. It is indicated that the correlations vary both with seasons and regions. In the central equatorial Pacific the positive correlation predominates throughout the year. The negative correlation is observed over the California cold current for whole year. In other regions a half-year alternation between positive and negative correlation is appeared.It is proposed that the positive correlation indicates the prominent role of SST in the interaction between the atmosphere and oceans, and the negative correlation shows the active role of cloudness. Finally, the great lag-correlation between the cloudness and SST may be linked with the large persistence of SST.
