急流与定常强迫Rossby波包和大气中的遥相关

JET STREAM AND THE STATIONARY FORCING ROSSBY WAVE PACKET IN RELATION TO THE TELECONNECTIONS IN THE ATMOSPHERE

  • 摘要: 本文利用波包概念和WKB方法,给出在一定地形和基流背景条件下Roosby波包的整体特性,并得到波包的发展方程和条件.应用波包发展条件于西南和东南急流的背景流场,提出波包断裂和波传播波道分叉的概念,即:根拐Rossby波包在急流区所处的位置和定常波包所须满足的条件,其槽(脊)线要变形,产生弯曲、断裂直至分离,波传播波道从而也发生分叉,产生两个波包和两支波道.对于西南风急流,一个波包向高纬传播,并可上升到平流层;另一个向低纬传播,但不如前者传得远,升得高.应用西南风急流中Rossby波包演变和波道分叉的这种特性,可以解释Wallace等提出的PNA型和EU型两种遥相关,从而为这两种类型的遥相关提供了一种物理机制.

     

    Abstract: With the concept of wave packet and using WKB method, the all-round characteristics of the Rossby wave packet under the background of the basic current and the topography are obtained, and the equation and condition for the development of the wave pocket are got as well. Applying the condition obtained to the background basic current of southwest and southeast jet, the conception of the wave packet breaking and the wave passage branching is proposed, i. e. according to the location of the wave packet with respect to the jet and the condition satisfied by the stationary wave packet, its trough (ridge) line has to be deformed, bending, breaking and bifurcating, the wave passage hence bifur-Gates correspondingly. As to the SW jet, one bifurcated wave packet propagates toward high latitude, and upward penetrates into the stratosphere, the other one propagates toward the low latitude, whereas it propagates a far less distance than the former, and upward only attains the tropopause. By means of the feature of the wave passage bifurcation of the Rossby wave packet in the SW jet, the EU type teleconnections suggested by Wallace et al. are investigated.
