Abstract: The analytical results of previous paper are used to study the propreties of vertical velocity distribution at the top of the boundary layer. The relative position of a jet-like geostrophic flow and ellipse-shaped orography will affect the characteristic feature of vertical motion at the top of the boundary layer when the contributions of friction and orography are taken into considerations simultaneously.
