A STUDY ON THE UNITED TIME-SPACE STRUCTURE OF 500 HPA MONTHLY MEAN HEIGHT

  • 摘要: 大气环流异常的空间分布结构、年内演变和年际演变规律与长期天气和短期气候变化有密切的关系.国内外对它们的基本特征、演变规律以及形成和变化的物理原因作了许多研究;这些研究是长期天气预报和短期气候变化研究很有成就的一个方面.

     

    Abstract: In this paper,500 hPa monthly mean geopotential height field has been analysed to determine the dominant modes of united spatial,seasonal and interannual varioability.A time-space synthetic empirical orthogonal function (EOF) analysis is used to reveal the modes which explain most of the variance for the period 1951-1984.The EOFs reveal the abrupt seasonal change and rhythm of atmospheric general circulation in Nothern Hemisphere.Time series associated with the EOFs reveal quasi-period fluctuations and the climatic jumps.
